Cracks

In 1817, the poet John Keats wrote about the notion of Negative Capability, that is, the capability of the artist to pursue a vision even when it leads them into intellectual and emotional confusion and uncertainty: ‘I mean Negative Capability, that is when a man is capable of being in uncertainties, Mysteries, doubts, without any irritable reaching after fact and reason.’ The creative process can be messy, frustrating and unfathomable. Things go wrong, work turns out differently to what you had in mind inside your head. It all seems perplexing or just plain rubbish. Sometimes we need to digest the work for a while, allow it to sit before making sense of it. Here you will find some short films about work which fits this bill.
